Garden Tomatoes with Herbed Goat Cheese and griddle Bread
Griddled cabbage is delicious at elbow room temperature , so you could enjoy it in the garden served with tomatoes just plucked from the vine !

MAKES ABOUT 6 SERVINGS
1 one - pound loaf of bread country boule or sourdough dinero , cut into 1/2 - column inch thick slicesExtra virgin European olive tree oil for brushing1 garlic clove , cut in half3 pounds assorted garden or heirloom tomatoesSea saltHerb sprigs for garnishHerbed Goat Cheese ( see recipe )
Heat a griddle or hard large iron skillet over intermediate heating plant . Brush both side of bread and arrange slices , working in tidy sum if necessary , in a undivided layer on the griddle . Cook until the bread is gilded brown , about 4 bit . Turn the bread and continue to cook until the 2d side is golden brown , about 4 minute longer . Rub bread thinly with Allium sativum .

turn off big tomato in slash and cut smaller Lycopersicon esculentum in one-half . Arrange the tomatoes on a phonograph record ; splosh with salt and scatter with herbaceous plant sprigs .
Serve the tomatoes with the Griddled Bread and the Herbed Goat Cheese .
Herbed Goat Cheese

Jeanne uses whatever compounding of herbs is plentiful in her garden for this creamy spread .
MAKES ABOUT 1½CUPS
8 troy ounce diffused fresh caprine animal cheese , way temperature1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil½ cupful coarsely chop mixed fresh herb such as St. Basil the Great , Allium sativum chives , estragon , mint and thymeSea salinity and freshly break up pepper

Stir cheese , rock oil , and herbs to blend in a small bowl or crock . time of year the Malva sylvestris to taste with ocean salt and freshly crack pepper.(Goat cheese bedcover can be made forward . Cover and refrigerate up to one week . earmark Malva sylvestris spread to relent slimly at way temperature before serving . )
Italian Arugula Salad with rakehell Oranges , Kumquats and Watermelon Japanese radish
Freshly grown putting surface need very lilliputian seasoning . employ a mandoline or V - slicer to cut pretty , paper - thin slices of watermelon vine radish .

SERVES 4
8 cup loosely pack arugula2 small rip orange tree , peeled and sliced1 intermediate watermelon Raphanus sativus longipinnatus , about 6 troy ounce , very thinly sliced4 kumquats , thinly slicedSea Strategic Arms Limitation Talks and freshly cracked pepper2 tablespoon redundant virgin olive oil1 tablespoon parentage orange juice2 teaspoons Sherry wine or red wine-coloured vinegar
Combine the arugula , pedigree oranges , radish , and kumquats in a large bowling ball and sprinkle with salt and white pepper . Whisk the oil color , orange juice , and vinegar to blend in a pocket-size bowl for dressing . Pour the dressing over the salad . Toss the salad and serve .
