In March of 2022 , Brenna and Paul Nystuen became the official possessor of a homestead in the Nystuen family for over 100 long time . Situated in Minnesota , the duo now execute the homestead as1908 Flower Farm .

“ Paul produce up coming to his grandparent ’ dairy farm every weekend and working on project with his pappa and grandad , ” explain Brenna . She originally draw together with Paul over a shared appreciation of the outdoors and farmland . “ He boom in this environment . ”

We spoke to Brenna about light upon a passion for flowers and how they successfully transitioned from grow produce to produce flower . We also touched on the magical spell of Madame Butterfly Snapdragon Mix bloom .

Finding a Focus in Flowers

Recapping their itinerary to running a flower farm , Brenna suppose that in 2020 , she and Paul moved to the family line farm . But that same week she turn a loss her job due to COVID-19 cut and circumstances .

“ I was devastate but motivated to discover something new and more in pipeline with my love of the outdoors , ” she recalls . “ I have a job at the local blossom shop in town . ”

By 2021 , the Nystuens had devoted their garden to vegetable . But , Brenna says , they find “ we could n’t keep up with how fully grown it was and how much it produced . We had big dreams on canning and freeze things , but it just did n’t encounter . We cease up donating most of it . ”

However , in 2022 , Brenna ’s foreman call for if they had any sake in growing a few blossom for her business . “ So in that mo , our passion originate , ” aver Brenna .

Just Do It!

Looking back at their formative attempts to mature blossom , Brenna says , “ The biggest lesson we learned last year was that it is okay to flunk . There was a lot that we did n’t do rightfield and failed at . But we just went back to the drawing board and explore what went wrongly and made notes for next year . The other affair we learned is , just do it . ”

Farming for Magical Moments

“ Every night we would take farm walks and walk around the farm so we could have a minute as a crime syndicate and enjoy the farm while we were n’t working , weed or harvesting , ” say Brenna . “ take in those moments to cease and savour are so peculiar . ”

“ Overall , it ’s scary , exciting , hard and rewarding , ” she append about running a farm , “ but the journeying is so worth it . And you will learn so much . When you see the buckets and buckets of flowers that you have harvested , it is so charming . ”
