I ’m starting to incorporate more flowers , like these marigolds , in to my garden for a dab of semblance and plant diverseness .

The efflorescence in the garden face jolly nice this workweek . We ’ve had cold night but very sunny days , so not only are all thebroccoligrowing really well , all the fall blossom flowers have start their show , too . The big splashing of colour are in particular welcome at this prison term of yr , when the craw plantings are no so striking yet .

Another reason I like the prime is because they ’re skillful for cutting . We care to have fresh bouquet of heyday on our mesa , and I guess it ’s a great lavishness to be capable to go out whenever I care and reap a big fistful of colorful blooms . My mother - in - practice of law is also appreciative , and we often take posy when we go visit friends .

I ’m separate a lot of my blossom into different parts of the garden so I do n’t have to buy new flowers .

One matter that is sort of odd here is that Chrysanthemums are used just for the cemeteries . slews of farmer and gardener develop a patch of Chrysanthemums to take to the cemeteries during the last week of October . alternatively of growing our Chrysanthemums in a flat bottom , I ’ve got them wegded in here and there on the slopes , in such a path that the plant can sort of cascade down the slope . The effect is overnice , and I ’m forgiven for develop so many Chrysanthemums . ( Everybody assumes we ’re growing them to decorate our relative ’s Robert Graves . )

Impatiens

I’m separating a lot of my flowers into different parts of the garden so I don’t have to buy new flowers.

We grew some very prissy long - staunch livid and red mums this class , and a big gang of them has already made a trip to the burying ground , so I opine wearefollowing local tradition .

In the past years , I worked mostly on make up the fruit- and vegetable - planting area of the garden , but lately I have had the prison term to crusade for more blossom . They add to the mixture of plant mintage and aid attract bothpredator insectsandbeesto the garden .

Although the photos I posted today are of annuals , I think the perrenials and self - seeding annual give the most clap for the buck . The Euryops are in full bloom now , and in another month , the Tritoma spectacular will begin . I separated a lot of plants last fountain from my one big clunk of flowers , and I now have six healthy clumps spread across the garden . Ca n’t wait to see the flowers this twelvemonth !

In general , my scheme is to propagate and launch the plant species that I already have growing well in the garden , rather of buying a muckle of new species . I used to have one of this and one of that , but now the the Euryops , chrysanthemums , althea , Tritoma , Gazania , alyssum , marigolds ,   violets , poppy androsemaryhave all been pass around from seeds or cuttings , and these metal money are now sprinkle across the garden . I think the results will be impressive in another year or so .
