A beloved oak tree lives on as a sculpture
Mary Morgan shared these photos of her parent ’s garden near Redding California ( Zone 9 ) . Here , beautiful flower unite with a very creative fashion to preserve an former , beloved , but ail tree in the garden .
In the backyard of the garden was a huge old oak Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree overlook the Sacramento River . The tree was trouble , and Mary ’s father had many arborist out to judge and pull through it for year.s . They say it was over 200 days old , but alas , it could not be saved . Instead of just cut the darling tree diagram down , they turned the trunk into a chainsaw carving of the fisherman and fish . The sculpture stands over 13 feet tall and is a beautiful tribute to a well - loved tree .
To further carry on the bequest of that mighty tree , they planted acorns from the tree around it . Those acorn have turn into trees , and stomach on either side of the carving . Those tree stand , looking over the river , reminding us that Modern live comes again after death .

Mary ’s parent ’s had a plain rock and roll molding in front , and three class ago Mary added a knoll of grease and six rootstalk of bearded iris ( Iris germanica , Zone 4 – 9 ) for colorful interest . She prefer early on , midway and recent and reblooming tall whiskery iris for a longer bloom time . you could see how much those six original rhizomes have multiplied in just a few year ! Not visible now , crocuses , daffodils and lily bulb extend the show , and by and by they found annual around the hillock to keep people of colour coming after the irises have end up their bloom .
