The Horticultural Trades Association ( HTA ) has appoint Fran Barnes as its Chief Executive , follow the late appointment of Directors of Public Affairs and Marketing .
Fran Barnes joins the HTA from the National Farmers ’ Union of England and Wales ( NFU ) , where she has ferment for over ten years , first as Head of Strategic Communications and afterwards as Director of Communications . Before joining the NFU , she held several editorial character on food and farming programs at the BBC .
Fran ’s fitting follows the recent naming of Jennifer Pheasey as Director of Public Affairs and Elia Johnston as Director of Marketing , with the HTA strengthening its older leadership squad as the horticulture sphere focuses on build upon the growth in the number of domesticated gardeners witnessed during the pandemic and delivering the “ Unlocking Green Growth ” strategy establish in September last year , even more , relevant in the current environment .
