Many gardeners , include myself , spring up Old , classic , or heirloom sort of vegetable . We have many reason for doing so . Some may be sentimental rationality , such as we obtained the seeds from a relative or have grown these varieties since childhood and they wreak back fond storage . And , of course , smack and eating quality come into play , as heirlooms are truly known for having superior feeding quality .
But we have found there are some newer varieties that perform better and are easier to develop than their older counterparts , while maintaining excellent relish and unique coming into court . Here are a few pick if you need to try something different this year .
A compact, disease-resistant tomato
Like it:‘Brandywine’ Tomato
‘ Brandywine ’ is probably the most well - known heirloom tomato plant for good reason : It has a racy , bluff flavour and is among the ripe tomatoes for eating .
