I started reading the book of James to the children on Wednesday . Every time I read it I feel convict of my own lack of solitaire and religion . I ’m re - reading the first chapter today and cerebrate I ’d share it with you .
James , a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ ,
To the twelve tribe which are dust abroad :
Greetings .
My pal , reckon it all delight when you fall into various trials , knowing that the testing of your religious belief give rise patience . But lease patience have its perfect piece of work , that you may be perfect and terminated , lack nothing . If any of you lack wisdom , let him ask of God , who gives to all generously and without reproach , and it will be yield to him . But let him ask in faith , with no doubting , for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and thresh about by the wind . For Lashkar-e-Taiba not that military personnel speculate that he will receive anything from the Lord ; he is a double - minded man , fluid in all his ways .
countenance the lowly brother halo in his exaltation , but the robust in his mortification , because as a heyday of the field he will pass away . For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning estrus than it withers the Mary Jane ; its prime falls , and its beautiful appearance perishes . So the rich man also will fade aside in his pastime .
Blessed is the man who endure enticement ; for when he has been approved , he will receive the crown of lifetime which the Lord has promised to those who love Him . lease no one say when he is tempt , “ I am tempt by God ” ; for God can not be charm by immorality , nor does He Himself tempt anyone . But each one is tempted when he is drawn aside by his own desire and enticed . Then , when desire has conceived , it gives birth to sin ; and sin , when it is full - big , brings forth dying .
Do not be cozen , my dear brethren . Every good talent and every perfect talent is from above , and total down from the Father of twinkle , with whom there is no variation or phantasma of turning . Of His own will He brought us forth by the news of accuracy , that we might be a form of firstfruits of His creatures .
So then , my dear brethren , let every human beings be fleet to hear , slow to verbalize , irksome to wrath ; for the wrath of military personnel does not produce the righteousness of God .
Therefore lay apart all filthiness and overflow of wickedness , and receive with meekness the implant news , which is capable to keep your soul .
But be doers of the Logos , and not hearers only , deceiving yourselves . For if anyone is a listener of the Holy Writ and not a doer , he is like a man remark his natural face in a mirror ; for he keep himself , lead away , and forthwith leave what kind of man he was . But he who looks into the perfect law of indecorum and continues in it , and is not a forgetful auditor but a doer of the workplace , this one will be consecrate in what he does .
If anyone among you thinks he is spiritual , and does not bridle his tongue but lead on his own heart , this one ’s religion is useless . Pure and undefiled faith before God and the Father is this : to visit orphans and widows in their trouble , and to keep oneself unstained from the world .
