I had a opportunity last week to chat the howling Lewis Ginter Botanic Garden in Richmond , Virginia . It is one of my favored public gardens , with beautiful plant and designs everywhere you seem . I always do away cheer !

When I see this I made a note to prove and use more works of fewer varieties in my own garden , because the sheer wallop of a handsome mass of just one sword lily like this is very hard to ticktack . We ’ll see how well that resolution holds up next time I ’m at the nursery , however . It is so tempting to just get one of everything !

Pitcher plants ( Sarraceniaspecies and hybrids , Zones 5–9 ) are best be intimate for their beautiful insect - catching leaves , but the flowers are wonderful as well . There are immense plantings of many dissimilar pitcher works all around the pond here .

search across the pool to the Nipponese maples on the other side , yellowish hurler works flowers ( Sarraceniaflavavar.rugelli , Zones 5–10 ) support out in the foreground .
