Layers of beauty and brick
We ’re visiting Patsy Lahue ’s Colorado garden today .
This garden is built in several levels with these beautiful brickretaining walls . I love how this allows all the plant life to gleam , because those in the back are n’t parry by those in the front .
Looking along the garden from the side , you’re able to see just how lucullan and full of bloom it is . White flowersare scattered throughout , helping pull out the whole space together .

search down at the house from the top of the garden , you’re able to see there is a wonderful place to sit , with the president plant so you’re able to focus on enjoying the adorable planting .
Paths conduct you up and through the garden , allowing for well-off maintenance , and you could explore and see all the plants up nigh .
There are lots of zinnias ( Zinniaelegans , annual ) , which are a great , long - blooming annual that provide a lot of color for a footling work . These are shorter assortment , well suitable to a border planting like this , unlike the very tall varieties bred for purpose ascut flower . A lot of the white add up from the glossy bracts of another yearly , snow - on - the - mountain ( Euphorbiamarignata , annual ) . Both the old maid and the snow - on - the - mountain are North Americannative plants .

Warm red and pink old maid flower ring the pink bloom of a sedum ( Sedum‘Autumn Joy ’ , Zones 3–9 ) and the warm tones in the brick itself .
And this is the thought from the kitchen ! When plan a garden , it is great to spend time imagine about how it will face from the window you wait out of the most . This scene would almost make me like washing the dishes .
