Blooms from spring to fall
My name is Lyle Johnson . I have been garden on a 60 - foot by 180 - foot city lot in Galesburg , Illinois , for a little more than 30 long time . Over that time the garden has fail through many transformations . I submit some photos a few years ago . I ’m sure they will illustrate a quite a little of the changes . ( Do check out theprevious post;it is fun to see how much the garden has raise ! ) One of the things I like about gardening is remark the adjustments that have been necessary over the days . Several trees have add up and gone . Just about the time you have a overnice shady area to garden , something changes and you ’re trying to adapt to a full - Lord’s Day berth . It ’s also interesting to honour the changes that happen month to month . A industrial plant you hardly find one month becomes the centre of attention of care the next .
In springtime , most of the perennials are still underground or just beginning to grow , and the daffodils(Narcissusspecies and hybrids , Zones 3–8 ) dominate .
The spring garden

Daffodils are join by tulips(Tulipahybrids , Zones 3–8 ) and grape hyacinths(Muscari armeniacum , Zones 4–8 ) as other perennial begin to advertize up development .
Everything is protrude to look total and greener .
This lilac ( looks likeSyringapatula‘Miss Kim ’ Zones 3–8 ) is in full bloom .

Siberian irises(Irishybrid , Zones 3–8 ) shine when in bloom , and their skunk foliage will keep look estimable the relief of the summertime .
This tree is gorgeous ; it looks like it might beRobinia pseudoacacia‘Twisty Baby ’ , ( zone 4–8 ) .
In summertime , daylilies(Hemerocallishybrids , Zones 4–9 ) dance step into the limelight .

Just a lump of green in the last photo , this clematis ( probably eitherClematis ternifloraorC. virginiana , Zones 5–9 ) transforms into a hatful of fragrant flower in the dusk .
