Sempervivum calcareumis native to the southwestAlps . It grow on limestone rocks at elevations between 1,640 and 5,250 feet ( 500 and 1,600 m ) from Triora inItalyup to theDévoluy Mountainsto the north of Gap inFrance .
Sempervivum calcareumis a modest succulent that shape rosette of glaucous or pale green leaves with purple - brown tips .
