This is a in force interrogative sentence from Sharon :

“ Hi David , just came across your TV on YouTube , I noticed there are n’t many videos on gardening in the tropics so thanks for draw yours ! I design on moving to the Caribbean within the year and plan on gardening , Any point or advice on recommend volume ( yours are on the top of the lean ) of course ! ! Also pecker or anything else I can bring with me when I move . give thanks you for any information you could provide . Also I ’m part of a biotic community garden in Florida and planning to taking a work for trade wind permaculture course this month . Thank you & kinfolk for spreading the noesis ! ”

I brought some gardening dick with me when I move since I was n’t certain what would be available here . Though I live in an field with a lot of James Leonard Farmer , some of my favorite instrument are not promiscuous to find .

Here ’s what I ’ve find out to be readily available ( will motley by country )

excavator , rakes , machetes , spade , square grub hoe heads

And these are the tools I never see :

Scuffle hoes , steering wheel hoes , broadforks , high-pitched - quality pruning proverb , scythe , reaping hook , good garden hoe ,

My friend Tony packed up my broadfork in lots of composition board , then I put circle handles on the boxful we made and taped it like crazy , then discipline the tool with the air hose . It JUST check the sizing essential . I had to pay and oversize fee on it , but it was worth every penny .

I did not lend a Dutch hoe / hula hoe , however , and I really miss having one . I need to get one brought in eventually . I also leave my scythe behind and bought a string trimmer when I grow here . The string trimmer act well on the slopes and among rocks anyhow , but if I were gardening in a unconditional maculation , I would require to bring a scythe .

One thing I ’ve noticed since moving is that there is very slight in the agency of good , used tool here . outmoded store and yard sale are nonexistent in my expanse . You ’re not going to get decent used tools and a circumstances of the Modern tools coming in are only so - so . The exception is that there are in effect spades , forks and machetes as well as chuck hoe question . The rakes , normal hoes and other things are n’t that expectant .

Specialty hoeslike you ’ll find at Easy Diggingare rare as well . They have one big hearty form of digging / grub hoe topically and that ’s it . I am beaming I brought the triangular one with me .

As for script , it ’s very lean . There ’s almost nothing out there for tropical gardeners . Stick with me for now , I opine . I ’ll do my best to avail . And require lots of question of the local anaesthetic . SomeFlorida gardening booksmight also be a sound approximation . It ’s close .
